Young displaced women—conflict, gender & generational trauma

Policy priorities from the South Caucasus and Eastern Europe

Across the South Caucasus and Eastern Europe, conflict and displacement continue to shape young women’s lives long after they have been forced from their homes.

Based on consultations with young displaced women from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine, this new policy brief explores how displacement affects identity, security, livelihoods, rights and political participation across generations.

It calls on governments, the EU and international actors to move beyond short-term responses and ensure that young displaced women have a meaningful say in the decisions shaping their lives and futures.
