Women’s Rights Organisations at the Center of Implementation of the EU Gender Action Plan III (2021-2025)

In November 2020, the EU has adopted the third Gender Action Plan - An Ambitious Agenda for Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment in EU External Action (2020-2025). This Plan lays the foundation for a more context-specific, transformative and results-oriented EU support for gender equality in partner countries, building on the results and lessons learnt from the previous Gender Action Plan II.

The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation believes that for this Plan to be successful, the EU needs to establish upfront a strategic partnership with women’s rights organisations at international, national and local level. In partner countries, women’s rights organisations, including grass-root organisations, and feminist movements should play a key role in developing and implementing the Country-level Implementation Plans.
