We are reached by the devastating news that our partner since 15 years, Association for Woman and Child Protection (AISHA), office was hit in Gaza city. One colleague, their driver, and another colleague’s child was killed, as well as a pregnant women coming to seek their services. Another colleague’s husband was injured and paralyzed. Since October 2023 three of their colleagues have been killed by Israeli attacks.
AISHA has relentlessly continued to support women and children in Gaza, providing psychosocial support and space where women can breathe and take a short pause from the ongoing hell. Since the beginning of the war, they have shifted to providing humanitarian aid such as hygiene kits, food, diapers, blankets, tents, medicine, and other supplies. At the same time, they run eleven temporary tents spread across Gaza, focusing on creating shelter and a safe environment for women and children. Some of the tents are dedicated to new mothers, where they can receive education on breastfeeding and gather to breastfeed their children.
This dehumanising war with indiscriminate killings and a complete lack of will to protect civilians must come to an immediate end. Israel is not only stripping Palestinians of their human dignity, but all of us who are witnessing the ongoing destruction of a people.
The genocide must stop, those responsible held to account and civilians provided support and safety.
We stand, and will continue to stand, in solidarity with AISHA, our thoughts are with you and your families. Their message to us: Pray for us <3
