Where’s the money for women’s rights in Ukraine?

A report by The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation and Ukrainian Women’s Fund

Ukraine has been recipient of a large amount of ODA since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. But to what extent has these funds reached Women Civil Society Organisations (WCSOs)? Has this created a sustainable situation for women’s rights organizations in the country? And how are ongoing funding cuts affecting organisations and communities?

Ukrainian Women’s Fund and The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation have produced a new report with unique data on the funding to WCSOs in Ukraine, based on survey responses and interviews with over 100 WCSOs in Ukraine.

The findings are crucial in supporting the sustainability and independence of Ukrainian civil society and WCSOs specifically, which is key in the recovery and reconstruction of a Ukraine that is gender equal, ready to join the European Union, and can fully implement its commitments to the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
