Position paper The Climate, Gender and Conflict Nexus (2022)

Today’s climate crisis has a serious impact on the environment with consequences for health, food security, livelihoods, conflict and forced migration, as well as both the rights and daily lives of women. Efforts to build and sustain peace are increasingly difficult since climate change directly affects the dynamics of ongoing conflicts and also increases the likelihood of conflict.

In the Kvinna till Kvinna position paper The Climate, Gender and Conflict Nexus we briefly outline the links between the ECC and gender-based violence, movement building, participation, peacebuilding and economic gender justice. We also showcase some of the work already being done by Kvinna till Kvinna and partner organisations, as well as outline some of our main recommendations.
