The Input for EU Enlargement Package 2026, prepared in collaboration with partner women’s rights organisations, provides a gender-sensitive analysis of political, economic and social developments in EU accession countries across the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe, with a focus on how these developments influence the pace and quality of reforms in these countries.
The publication examines key areas within the Fundamentals of Accession, including Democracy, Public Administration Reform, Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights (Chapters 23 and 24), Statistics (Chapter 18), Social Policy and Employment (Chapter 19), Consumer and Health Protection (Chapter 28), Foreign, Security and Defence Policy (Chapter 31), as well as the normalisation of relations between Serbia and Kosovo. Each country’s section includes tailored recommendations intended to inform the European Commission’s 2026 Country Reports.
