Policy Brief As we have seen Russia’s brutal war on Ukraine unfold in front of our eyes, it has become clear that the response from the international community in terms of diplomatic sanctions and international aid has been largely gender blind. In this paper we provide our recommendations to the international community on how the commitments in the Women, Peace and Security agenda can be upheld, how to secure the protection needs of women and girls as well as their roles as actors for sustainable peace.

Policy Brief—A Feminist Response to Russia's war in Ukraine

It has been more than 10 months since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This war has devastating effects on all parts of the Ukrainian population, but as always, the conflict effects different parts of the population in different ways.

Therefore, it is essential that the international community applies a gendered and intersectional approach to their response. Read our second policy brief where we outline specific recommendations to the international community.
